A Grateful Nurse

After decades of patient care, I was accused of sexual assault while performing patient care. I contacted my malpractice insurance and found out that it only protects my license and it was useless in a criminal case. I was desperate. Deserves Multiple Kudos.

Imagine my shock when I was notified a resident had made an allegation against me. The DON and Administrator had to suspend me during the investigation which was understandable; but after the legal department became involved they apparently believed it expedient to just distance themselves from me entirely and terminated me via telephone. The next thing I know an investigator from the State contacted me regarding the allegation as the Board of Nursing was then involved. The allegation by this time was a long convoluted story that was twisted into something truly awful. If I had been unsuccessful in defending the untrue allegation it was likely my nursing license could have been sanctioned or revoked; with the possibility of even further civil action.
